The second season of the TOKYO MX drama about hairstylist Hiro, who starts dating Natsuo to get revenge on the person tied to his “dark past” from high school.

The six-episode season is scheduled to air on TOKYO MX1 every Thursday at 9:25 p.m. from October 29, 2026, with free catch-up viewing on TVer after broadcast and exclusive streaming on FOD. Season 1 aired as an eight-episode run from July 13, 2025, every Sunday at 25:05 (1:05 a.m. the following day). In a press release, TOKYO MX introduced the show as the third installment of its BL drama lineup. Ahead of the premiere, an advance screening of episode 1, with both lead actors in attendance, is set to take place at Hitotsubashi Hall in Tokyo on October 26.

The source material is the manga Ren'ai Rubi no Tadashii Furikata (恋愛ルビの正しいふりかた), which BL manga artist Ogeretsu Tanaka published in April 2015 under Shinshokan's Dear+ Comics imprint. The “ruby” in the title refers to the small reading aids printed alongside kanji and other characters, and the first episode of season 1 was titled “Saikai (Revenge) no Shikata,” with the word for “reunion” glossed as “revenge.” Season 2 is an original story for the drama that keeps the world of the manga while weaving in spin-off stories from the original work, supervised by Ogeretsu Tanaka. Director Yasuki Sato and screenwriter Motoko Takahashi, who handled season 1, return, with Takahashi also overseeing the series’ overall story structure this time.

Genki Iwahashi again plays the protagonist Hiromu Suzuki (Hiro), and Satoru Soma returns as Natsuo Washizawa. According to the official synopsis, season 2 begins a little over a year after season 1. Hiro, now in line to become the next salon manager, starts working as a teacher at a beauty school to learn how to train newcomers, while Natsuo is still working at heights on construction sites under his foreman. An unexpected accident at Hiro's home leads the two to move in together in the old traditional house where Natsuo lives. Salon manager Reina Kaga (Saya Emori), Hiro's fellow stylist from the same intake Aoi Shiina (Nanami Asahi), and Natsuo's foreman on site Hajime Gondo (Tetsunori Akira) carry over from season 1. Joining them are Maki Oda (Rina Komiyama), a student at the beauty school where Hiro teaches; Matsuri Inui (Tamami Sakaguchi), the assistant homeroom teacher at the same school; and Kyosuke Hiiragi (Takumi Bando), a mysterious man who appears before the two.

Just as the delphinium was the key flower in season 1, the autumn-blooming chocolate cosmos plays that role in season 2. The opening theme is “3.03cm,” written for the show by the three-piece band pachae. The member who wrote the lyrics and music explained that the title converts the old unit of length issun into centimeters, and that it carries the idea of the future just a few centimeters ahead, close enough to touch, adding up to a lifetime. The ending theme is “Iruka” (Dolphin), with lyrics co-written by Genki Iwahashi under the credit “Hiro & GENKI”; its title comes from the fact that the word delphinium derives from the Greek for dolphin.
